Covid-19 information

Current information is always available on the page https://www.umu.se/en/student/changes-due-to-covid-19/

The fall term has begun and we unfortunately still have an epidemic to deal with. This has consequences for how teaching is conducted during the spring. For the time being, the campus is open to everyone during office hours and in the evenings / weekends for those with valid UmU-cards. The department computer labs will have additional restrictions, more information is available at the page https://support.cs.umu.se/covid-information/labs. The teaching will, to a large extent take place on-line. Students in the first and last semester are prioritized on Campus, but even here there will be more on-line education than normal.

It is important that we all help to slow down the spread of the infection, partly to protect each other and partly to avoid stricter restrictions. Therefore, we ask you to:

  1. Follow the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations, ie
    • Stay at home for symptoms, even mild
    • Keep your distance and take personal responsibility
    • Cough and sneeze in the armpit
    • Wash your hands often and for at least 20 seconds
    • Avoid touching the face
  2. Work from home as much as possible
  3. Avoid using the computers in the computer rooms unless absolutely necessary
  4. Use the rubbing alcohol and surface disinfectant available on Campus
  5. Test yourself if you get symptoms (more info at https://www.1177.se)

The changed study situation can create problems with the studies and problems with health. Therefore, be extra observant of how you feel and do not hesitate to point out practical problems for the course coordinator or to seek support via Student Health. You are also always welcome to contact the study counselor or director of studies at the department (https://support.cs.umu.se/covid-information/contact).
